Well, I'd go with 5200 since you're not planning on pulling this puppy out anytime soon, and because it has a stronger adhesive component wich prevents the vibration of the motor from disloging it. Remember, none of these silicone-based adhesives are self-healing - once the seal is broken, it won't close up again.

Go with the 5200. It's great stuff. Becomes like hard rubber when it dries. My dealer swears by this stuff and it's all I use whenever I drilled any holes in the boat for bolts, etc.... per dealers advice.
was motoring through a potato patch just north of Avalon, Catalina Island and had a few gallons spurt up through the daggerboard slot. While I didn't get a mouthfull I noticed it was draining along the sliding hatches guides and down the bulkhead into the cockpit. I am considering a few ideas to deal with it. Frankly I was surprised at the volume but there was so much spray off the bow that the cockpit was drenched anyway.
That isn't supposed to happen

Beene, I guess you've successfully hijacked this thread
Anyway I used 5200 myself, definately the way to go. As for why I put my throttle on the left, well it's going to sound silly but I use to play a lot of flight simulators on my computer, I had (well still have somewhere around here) a throttle and joystick setup. In a jet fighter the throttle is on the left.
Growing up in an Air Force family I had always wanted to be a fighter pilot, but I had bad eyesight. Later in life that turned into a fascination with sailboats but I still dream sometimes of being able zip around the sky in an F-16. So the throttle on the left is the closest I'm ever going to come to having my own jet fighter, even if it is more like a wallowing C-141.
But what I tell people is that since the captains chair lifts to the port side that means you are always going to be passing to the starboard to get in the cabin, and who wants to get caught on the throttle every time you walk past.
But you'll see me sitting at the helm humming the top gun theme on occasion.....just don't tell anyone
