Mark,
I added a little marketing hype to the description and a poll. I was afraid this was becoming the dodger thread.

Yea! It worked (your poll). I'm coming and bringing my BBQ, parents and various kids. Unfortunately, I doubt that Diane will be able to make it, as she may be in Phoenix for business the whole weekend.
And I'm planning on staying in the water overnight, too. How many slips have you reserved? Recently, we put three Macs in a single slip!

Doesn't look like you can reserve slips.

Maybe we can snag two of the big slips on the main channel and have room for up to 6 macs. I spoke to Mike Aya16 and he's coming also.

if we cant get the slips we can do it in the parking lot. But from what I saw
available this last weekend It shouldnt be a problem. you can fit two macs to a slip easy and the marina is ok with that as long as we all pay. Isnt that nice of them. Sat morning first 3or4 guys grab the slips. the rest is easy. Tell roger we will hold our breath till he gets there.
He wont want 12 mac owners dying all at the same time. Bad publicity.
Ok Roger heres the deal come down meet the folks bring your grand kids
we will not over whelm you with all kinds of rock star praise, No one will bug you about the boats. we will treat you like your one of the guys. So you can actually relax. We will share our two buck chuck you bring your own steaks. dont bring the 70 footer unless you want to give endless tours, Im sure Inmon has a boat you can use. Or you can go out on mine as Im the worst sailor and you know the old saying 10 macs heading in the same direction is a sailboat race.
so you can help me win.
Really guys I dont know why Roger doesnt come to some of these events
he lives close and Im sure he cant be that tied up. So My guess is if we can some how let him know that no one is going to be in his face and he could enjoy the day like us then he might come someday. He wouldnt need to come for pr Im sure he sells as many boats as he can make, so
the only reason he would want to come would be to kick back like the rest of us. So if ole roger does make it to one of these events lets be mindfull of this and give the guy a chance to relax and get to know us better.
He just might like what he sees and want to join our little group.
Then when we get to know him better we can pounce on him.

Hey Mike, good strategy. We sure missed his 65' boat in Catalina in May (See "New Catalina Cruise to Isthmus & Raft-up" thread) So we have, what, 6 boats + 1 Captain (Steve) so far?

Hey Mike...I think running a boat business based on a tight margin and tight control of cost of materials to some of the cheapest boaters out there has to be quite a chore..I bet Roger doesnt get much down time...
Still, I hope he could find time to touch base with customers on occasion.....my customers buy about every 5 years on average, and I know how important the personal thing is...

either hes laughing all the way to the bank thinking we suckers bought this hunk of junk or he made something hes really proud of and with that
maybe he ought to get to know the folks that buy these things.
I dont think they are a hunk of junk. pretty sure Roger doesnt either.

I'll be putting the boat in the water on the 25th and getting a guest slip. We will bring the bycicles to cruise over to Venice beach area and to the markets
We'll also keep the boat in the water and cruise up to Santa Barbara and out to the Channel Islands for a week or two- if anyone is interested, let me know
See you there

My wife the planner is concerned we don't have firm enough plans for Saturday BBQ. I'm thinking of heading over Saturday morning to grab a slip and the "official" BBQ time of 2p-6p. Roger hasn't replied yet about the free beer so looks like its BYOB and everything else;) Weather should be perfect.
