A Mac dealer in my area advised me that the shroud protectors look nice, but simply get in the way. I sorta agree...
I plan to slide some tube over My upper/outer shrouds. I had a pair that were about 2' high and a waste. I have problems with the sheet shackle hanging on the shrouds in a light wind tack.

I plan on putting 4' covers with no top plug so they will rinse with rain water.

One more thought or concern. If your in a public slip be careful imho about anything being too loose. One common complaint about sail boaters is the noise we generate from our boats all night long . I have been very careful to bungee everything and those around have been told there are more in the cockpit if needed. So far so good :)

In our marina there is only one other family that overnights.

I have only seen them once and they are on the next dock over.
