elia -- thanks for that. Wow, can you ever see that plug on the roof. How cool.

Here's the shot that got me hyped about Google Earth. We have a building lot on the Texas Gulf Coast we hope to build on and retire to someday. With the pan and tilt features, I can almost take in the view...

And since this really relates to Macs... here's where we used to keep our boat in Pirates Beach Texas. You can see the 36 foot MacGregor catamaran pretty clearly in the slip next door...

Graham, I was a very early adopter of this technology and purchased a license to "Keyhole". Keyhole is the company that was later purchased by Google and turned into Google Earth. For a while Keyhole did indeed have a different database which was *much* more detailed than Google Earth, but now the database that both use is the same one.. what's different is simply the overlay of the software name on the image, and that is put on by the application program on your 'puter. And ever since Google bought Keyhole they've forwarded all the old http://www.keyhole.com references to Google.
