Tom - sorry the link I posted gave you malware problems

I cut and pasted it from the FAQ pages. I will send a note to Heath suggesting we change that page.

Ive also deleted it from the thread so no one else catches the crap.

Switch browers to Mozilla Firefox. You'll get addicted to the tabbed browsing and won't have to worry about those Active-X hijacks. It works on most websites and the ones it doesn't, you can tell it to automatically launch Internet Exploder when you go there. Just keep it updated like all the rest of your software because like any, including that for the Macintosh, security vulnerabilities are found and fixed on a regular basis.

I knew Tony had posted pics of the ladder! see this mod he posted backe in March
http://www.macgregorsailors.com/cgi-bin ... record=511
I bought one in June and at that time they had one left. My wife loves it.

I mount mine with the forward part of the ladder on the track on the bow side of the lifeline stanchion, that way it cant slip aft and off the tracks.

FYI, Just posted my promised mod for the rope ladder we use on Octopus. We show it deployed mid-ship, however, we as often use it off the bow pulpit. It is posted under exterior and miscellaneous. 8) Jack

TJ,

Looks like you could loop the end over the winch on either side. Nice strong mount ...less flex than what the stanchion would give.

Yep, that's what I use. I also have the BBCode add-on that lets me right-click on the fly and add any BBCode I want when I'm adding stuff to the forum. VERY handy.

Thanks for that tip, Kevin. I love the way it can take a URL in the clipboard and paste it with quote, image, code, and url tags! Lots of other handy UBB functions too.

I have a 2001X ... PO had installed a 2-step Railmaker boarding ladder ... the right bolt must have loosed slightly and caused some minor damage to the gelcoat and the first layer of fibreglass (Ok on the inside) ... view a picture at Image ... I'd like to put a ss plate (8"x1"x1/8") plate on the outside to better distribute the weight when using the ladder ... can anyone tell me where one can be purchased? - or do you have a better idea?

Wasn't as difficult as I expected and easily found a metal shop which cut the right length (11"x1'x3/8") and punched two holes for the boarding ladder bolts - fixed up the gel coat damage and it looks great :)

I found the perfect bow boarding ladder at West Marine for around 40 bucks.

Q1-
Makes it too easy for pirates and orangutans to board unnoticed
How do you plan to repell them?

I have my attack gummy bear waiting for them at the forward hatch as first resort Image
and then my killer dog ready to take a hunk off of them when they enter the forward hatch:D

Of course my killer dog will become wildly aware of the gummy bear defence and open his eyes as the orangutans enter the forhatch :x :x :x :x :x
