Not kidding,
I find the mast difficult to handle and wag back and forth with the added weight of the furler and Genoa, therefore the removable spreaders....
maybe some owners are more capable, and maybe without the furler/Genoa it's easier....

I did the Duane Dunn keypin shackles on the lifelines. One of the best mods we made to the boat!

Speaders have gotten in the way of winter cover tarps so this fall I will remove same. This leaves only the stanchions to work around, which appears to call for blue tarps with fore/aft dimensions of about 12ft, 6 ft and 10 or more ft, resp. ahead of, between and aft of the stanchions.

I lash three 3/4 inch PVC plumbing pipe to the stanchions to make a blue tarp tent for Catigale in our upstate NY winter. THe snow lsides off her with this setup very nicely.
