Here’s a NON Mac name! It amuses me and seems like many of the boats in the marina. Especially many of the power craft around

Funny story, one of their bilge pumps engaged and didn't cut off, ran dry and started smoking in one of the Rideau Locks. Stuck in the chamber with the boat beside us starting to pour smoke: I was about 30 seconds from getting the fam overboard towards the lock escape ladder when they were able to extinguish it. I had them briefed on the procedure about 5 seconds after we first smelled the smoke.

My advice for those looking to name their boats, depending on their usage of it of course, is to choose something easy to "catch" on the radio. It really helps when the hail-ee gets the boat name on the first try and doesn't have to respond with "Vessel hailing the Xstreet bridge...etc."

Wow - that must have been some concerning: stuck in a 20 foot deep stone-walled lock with another boat on fire. There is no way to go up up (in every sense of the word) if things didn't get under control.

My parents' first boat, a 22' Chris*Craft Utility, was bought with a partner. It was named using parts of their last names, therefore: COU*LIN*BREEZE

My Mac is neither a normal sailboat nor a normal powerboat, hence: Y.B.NORMAL
Of course, our families are kinda crazy too.

Behind it we tow our 8' tender: A Little Dinghy

We get a lot of laughs and good comments about the names. :D
