Yeah, I would second that. Few boats are built in a way that truly everything is accessible for maintenance/replacement. I think owning an old boat inevitably involves having to cut, modify, or rebuild chunks of boat once in a while.
This part of the liner is certainly not critical in supporting the hull, it’s so close to the V of the bow (which is inherently strong), and there is a ton of unsupported hull right behind it where the v berth is. I did leave a flange, as the liner is tabbed to the hull here. If you completely cut away the tabbing, I don’t think the hull would care, but the liner might get a little floppy.
Another option would be to cut a round hole and install one of these access ports. But I would have hated trying to work through that little hole.
