While I’ve worked on and wired Many things electric in my house, I would not do that in any other’s home, as I am Not licensed and only know and remember what the ‘electric book’ I’m copying from tells me, while it’s open. So I won’t work on other’s electric in home or boat. That said, I did :? “Rejuice” Miss Ollie with lithium batteries, this season. It was a Good and Unremarkable season, electrically.

I’m reluctant to leave links to products purchased but will describe them. Caveat Emptor :!:

I bought 4 100AH Lithium batteries that cam with their own proprietary 110Ac chargers. They were not marine grade chargers but proprietary and came with ea purchase. Each bat also housed 2 USB ports and a button to activate them. Nice feature but not bought for that.
For House Batts, I wired 2 in parallel to make a 12V 200AH house battery. The other 2 were wired in series to supply a 24V bow trolling motor I Hardly Ever use, but has been hooked up since… ‘18? While original, Not the Mod I’d recommend to do. -However, I believe it will be more useful in Trawler mode; which I will be from This end of season on.

So, I normally and consistently use my 250W +MPPT Controller, solar to charge house. I bought an inexpensive 20W to charge Costco flooded, motor 12V battery, same. My starter motor battery’s didn’t fail this season, tho did 2x last season before change out. Though I had ~3 incidents where house got run down, I didn’t Kill my batts cause lithium can be drained a significant # of times, 100% and Still bounce back. So, on 2 occasions I had to plug into shore power and replenish overnight . This would have and did Kill Costco and AGM flood house batteries with Half their stated ah life. for. Years.🙄 It only takes ~ 5 hrs to recharge from proprietary AC charger. Otherwise I was Supplied and Uneventful😎

Otherwise, most Every season, I had dead batteries to contend with due to for house and motor. Have had significant issues with bat drain.

I wouldn’t leave attached to shore power, even with marine rated charges, YMMV.

I’ve witnessed 4 boat fires, in my 18 years of boating. And all those fires had more to do with gasoline , cigarettes and flammables than batteries. So,
Be careful, mindful of charging length, etc and prudent. For me, I got Another Great boating tool…

Again: Caveat Emptor & YMMV
