I think that's the one Catigale was going to start manufacturing and marketing.

Here's another one. The Northill anchor, originally developed for float planes during WWII I believe. Had to be light weight, and folding. The predecessor to 'modern' light weight fluke anchors for general use like the Danforth, which itself was a big improvement over the CQR for light duty, small boat applications.

You see the 8kg Jambo in the anchor locker. The 11kg you could also store inside the anchor locker and is now at the. Bow roller

Those wide spaced fluke tips look ideal for a bow roller on a boat like the Mac. Others like the Fortress and Danforth are close together, making it necessary to use a bow roller that sticks farther out off the bow.

The aspect of being able to use a shorter bow roller with the Jambo anchor is a brilliant and astute observation!

I didn’t notice that until you mentioned it!

A shorter bow roller is a real benefit when anchoring. With a long extended anchor roller we would be needing to be moving the anchor line off the extended roller and placing it into a proper fair lead to keep down the bearing stresses while at anchor and then back up onto the roller for retrieval. Both instances where we’d need to get up on deck to get our fingers pinched regularly!

A proper shorter roller would allow the anchor line to remain on the roller while being cleated off appropriately via the fwd hatch access!
