How was hasp cut? Hack saw? Bolt cutters?
When I replaced the stock FBG big single dropboard with 3 short dropboards, the stock hasp would not fit, so I substituted a somewhat thicker, wider, flat aluminum plate that pivots on a stainless 3/8 bolt extending rotatably thru the top dropboard ( the plate thus pivots in a plane parallel to the plane of the dropboard and is spaced from the latter enuf to receive the slider hatch loop for locking).
The extra plate thickness might discourage a bolt cutter. A comparably thick stainless plate would be less easy to make but slower to hack saw thru.
All in all, the flashing red LED sounds good.
