I totally agree, Chip. NEVER use cinderblocks (aka concrete blocs ... or aka 'breeze-block' in the UK) to support anything... I've seen them shatter with near-disasterous results... even when they might seem to be holding fine, in a minute or even in a week or month's time they could just literally blow up or crush. Very nasty stuff.

These days you can buy a reasonably good set of jack stands on the cheap... so buy'em! Or make a proper custom-fit stand out of stout lumber. But for god's sake don't use those blocks.

You're right. A guy at work dropped his truck on himself like that.
