Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
Waiting for my new main to land in OZ, unfortunately the tracking number isnt working Grrrrrr
Once its cleared customs here I can order the next lot (if you have more than 1 parcel in customs and they total to more than $1000Au then you have to pay 10% GST, 5% customs duty and a $65 document processing fee on the combined total).
The additional postage costs leave me $250 better off making 3 orders than importing the lot in one parcel

"Cheryl and Ezra were great at explaining and advising what I need. My opinion is, customer service come before selling you something you don't need. I love BWY!!" Me too!!! Theses guys (generic guys of course
) are the best marketing tool that Macgregor has.

Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
I recently used their new-and-improved (and I mean that so sincerely) web site to order the BWY custom steering quick-disconnect for my 2006
(50hp Etec). It arrived in a reasonable amount of time, was packaged well, along with detailed instructions, and appears to be of excellent build and design quality. Here's to Blue Water Yachts!
Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
I again Thank-You for your nice words. We do try to keep all of you happy with your boats! After all we are supposed to be having fun. With that said we would like all of you to know that this is the super busy time. I am running out of parts and suppliers are slow! I can't believe how many kits we put together and by the time I turn around they are gone! So this time of year order early and have patience. We too are enjoying the web site, by ordering the parts you know you need online give us time to answer other people on the phone who have questions. All your questions are important, so feel free to email me questions as well! Cheryl

Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
Got the revised tracking number from Ezra by email today, awesome
Australia Post are the hold up, seems that it is quicker to get a parcel delivered from Seattle to Melbourne Letter center than it is to get the parcel from the letter center to my house a mere 40km (25 miles) away.
I mean the CEO of Australia Post is only paid $5.2 million dollars a year, hardly enough to ensure that their service can deliver a parcel 25 miles in 3 days, if Australia was a third world country I may be able to understand it, but Australia Post seem to think that taking 10 days is deliver a normal letter from a regional center to a capitol city is acceptable

Yep AUSPOST has gone to sh~t
, wife is an avid ebayer we get stuff quicker from China than we do from Perth. Heck I have ordered stuff from the US on a weekend and had it here by the next Friday. Ordered stuff from Darwin and it has taken a month. Some metropolitan areas now only get deliveries 3 days a week. No wonder businesses like Toll and Startrak (actually owned by AUSPOST) (local versions of FedEx) are booming.
I wonder if AUSPOST is letting it's parcel delivery service die to force people onto Startrak

Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
Just made an order last week through the website, spent 20 mins on the phone prior to ordering with Ezra to ensure I was selecting the right parts. He took the time to walk me through each item and give me the correct part numbers prior to ordering online. Once the order was placed I received a call to see if I wanted to substitute a part rather than putting it on back order saving me a second round of shipping. The order was shipped last Friday and I received it Wednesday delivered to my door in Norther BC. Very happy with the service, will definitely order again!

Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
As the CEO of Australia Post seems to think that he isnt over paid at just on 10 times they pay the Prime Minister of Australia maybe he can personally deliver my parcel to me.
Now lets break that $5.2 milion dollars into terms we can all understand, if he worked 8 hrs a day 7 days a week and had no holiday or sick days that would be 56 hours a week or 2912 hrs a year, so we divide his his salary of $5.2 million by the number of hours 2912 to give us an hourly rate of $1785.72.
Who is worth $1785 per hour?? Well not the Prime Minister of Australia (who own Australia Post) he is only worth just over %500, 000 a year and I know for sure he works longer hours and even the President of the USA is still well behind with a total salary of around $500,000 USD.
Just on a note, Australia Post have increased the postage charges and decreased the service they offer as stated before some areas only get their post delivered 3 days a week now, you can have it delivered 5 days a week but of course you have to pay extra, Next Day Priority Express is no longer guaranteed to arrive the next day, even within the same city.
One parcel I just got was sent to me from 10Km (6 miles away), it went to a letter center 5Km away, then to another letter center 40Km away before being delivered to me 10 days later from the letter center 40Km away, go figure if thats efficiency.
OK rant over, maybe you can tell Im feeling mighty grumpy this morning, but who could blame me??

Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
I always judge the service of a company NOT only by he service they give when all goes to plan BUT also and importantly by how good the customer service is when things go "Up the creek without a paddle"
That being said, by some sort of accident (mix up in the packing slips I think) I got sent the wrong sail, it was a 26M main sail and a single reef at that, not much good to me with a X and wanting 2 reefs, a phone call the Ezra explaining the situation and the correct sail was quickly despatched.
Due to logistics for BWY to arrange return of the incorrect sail would of been a pain due to time and often day differences between Australia and the USA, so he asked if I could arrange the return.
A quick visit to the post office saw the sail winging its way back to Seattle, I dropped the invoice for return postage on a email and got a quick response and the return postage will be credited to my credit card.
And the happy news is that my new correct main sail arrived today, looks sensational, cant wait to get out and try it, I have been doing the happy dance since it arrived.
Well done BWY, and give Ezra a pay rise, good staff are hard to find and when you get good ones hang on to them with all your might

Re: Blue Water Yachts - Great Service
I ordered new guts for the masthead (steaming) light plug and receptacle, using their new web site. This was the first time ordering off the new site. In the past, I'd order and get a phone call to confirm the items and take payment. This time it was like ordering through Amazon - got a confirming email right away, a notice the order was shipped (same day, 7 hours later) with a reference to a tracking number that wasn't there, and another email 4 days later that actually did include the tracking number. But the package was delivered 2 days before I got that last email.
Ordered on 5/4 and got the envelope on 5/6, from the west coast no less, for $3.45 in shipping charges.
That little oddity notwithstanding, I have no complaints and only compliments. Not that I minded taking a call to confirm and pay (and they were always very helpful, and I'm sure they still are), but online-only is much more convenient, especially for routine stuff that doesn't require a consult, and worked very smoothly.
Now that the ordering process is streamlined, I'm running out of things to buy from them.

I just dont think your trying hard enoughTomfoolery wrote:Now that the ordering process is streamlined, I'm running out of things to buy from them.
Just about the ring and put in my next order due to import regulations it cheaper to pay more postage than order everything at once and pay a myriad of importing fees once the value of the goods goes above $1000Au
