Where's Bill from Boats for Sale
Re: Where's Bill from Boats for Sale
My first search for EZ Cleat came up with ezcleat.com They claim to be sold out of the remaining inventory but are working on updating and manufacturing the 2nd generation. Better etc. They have both an EZ line and EZ cleat. Are these what you are interested in?
Re: Where's Bill from Boats for Sale
Looking on boats4sail web site I see that his EZ Cleats are really a swivel cam cleat and bulls eye that are on a slide that fits on the T-Track. Those I can get. Working on a price now! Give me a call soon if you want to order. I will get an order started. Cheryl

They are less expensive than Bills version. His are $125/pair. I don't think they swivel anymore either.Spector wrote:Or you could get the Garhauer version.

Re: Where's Bill from Boats for Sale
Wow this is kinda timely for me. I was ready to pull the trigger on a pair of EZ cleats. But being they have to be paid for by check or money order, I guess I gotta wait till we hear from Bill.

Re: Where's Bill from Boats for Sale
I just received this from Bill:
Hi Dale - 4/5/17
I hope you are doing well.
I hope you can help me to get back on the Mac site.
Every time I tried to post on the Mac site in the past year or so, it didn't work.
It would say "The username you entered is already in use, please select an alternative." or "The entered e-mail address is already in use."
I forgot my password so I would ask for a new one. It wouldn't work.
My wife tried, first with my email address with a different user name - Didn't work
Then with her different email address, different user name - Didn't work
Etc.
Thanks ~ Bill
Hi Guys - Long story short, here I am. Occasional visitor but haven't posted in a while.
Website doesn't work because the friend that did it for me went on to his eternal reward (or lack thereof) and I don't know how to do anything with it.
The best way to contact me is email: boats4sail@sbcglobal.net
I accept checks from a US bank, or a bank Money Order with "US Dollar Money Order printed on it.
I was going to sell my Mac 19 after I got my Tattoo 22. I had/have a deposit on the first one to leave the factory. That didn't happen
So I bought a 26X back from a customer. I installed a roll-bar to get the mainsheet out of the cockpit. I've started to install a slotted toe-rail to improve sheeting angles, and should stiffen up the hull/deck joint.
I also think it may be used for a vang.
I'm working on an aluminum center board.
Inside, I'm modifying it for the way I sail now: shore power, refrigerator w/ice maker, pressure water, bigger/higher countertop and sink, opening ports, self-tacking jib (not really necessary with my EZ Cleats.
I modify the parts from Garhauer for my EZ Cleats so that they DO-NOT swivel. Reason: Under heavy load, I had one bend vertically at the pivot-point instead of rotating horizontally. Work much better/safer now. (With the wind on the nose, do you need the winch to tighten the sheets? - No, as there is no tension on them. with the wind on the beam, do you need a winch? - Maybe. Or, do as I do. Head into the wind to take some tension off, pull the sheet thru the fairlead and cam-cleat on my EZ Cleat. Repeat if necessary. I use them for the sheets of my jib, Genoa, and spinnaker. They simplify single-handing.
My current price of 2/$125 includes shipping to the USA and Canada. Antarctica and elsewhere contact me for shipping costs.
I still have my Mac 19.
I sold over 200 Macs and several Tattoo's since 1991.
I have a lot of stuff left over If there is something you want/need, let me know what it is. I may have it.
