Hope you're doing the same - it breaks my heart to watch sails turn green with moss on other boats at the marina from neglect over the winter.

Thats a bit piggie, Three spinnakers!!!!
Sell me one (cheap of course), my partner will be in Vancouver in January visiting her daughter, you must have a spare assy you dont need, that could do with some good old Australian wind filling it

Sorry sailboatmike .... no can do - that would be like selling one of our kids

Yep going to pull my boat out of the lake tomorrow......... oh wait I live in Texas only pulling it out to go race at another lake!
Sorry we have 12 month worth of sailing, however I do take about 3 months off in the winter. Do wish I lived in florida some times!! May go to Corpus Cristi in February. That would make only 2 months of no sailing.

There's a difference between a Asym and a Gennaker?

To my thinking;
- The asymmetrical is cut deeper than a Genaker, more like a symmetrical spinnaker but with a short leach so no pole is required.
- The Genaker is cut more flat like a jib or a big Genoa - the flatter shape enables pointing higher than a traditional asymmetrical and acts similar to a light air Genoa.
There are some good Sail-Smiths on this site that can probably explain it better, but the below link is to a thread that has some photos of our sails that I think help visualize the difference between symmetrical, asymmetrical, and Genaker.

According to most sources Cruising Spinnaker, Gennaker and Asymmetric are all interchangeable terms for the same sail, asymmetric has become a more popular term now because more racing boats are using them because of the extra speed and being able to hold them much higher to the wind than a traditional symmetric
