Time to move on to many other things
True you have fixed it so this is good.

For others that may follow looking at this thread your prop even though it is just a photo it appears smaller than my solas which was classed as large cup or a pontoon prop. My 13.73x13 is also a pontoon prop.

So this may be the difference when selecting props.

Sorry we were not comparing apples with apples so the help was somewhat limited 8)

Just curious. Does this look like your Solas 13.75 x 13 prop? Does the part number match? Do you have a link?
Thanks

Thanks. Yes, I found the Hydrus 13" prop on the Evinrude website, with that same part number.
There was also a Hydrus 14 x11:

OK, so that must be the difference. You are using pontoon props. EZ and myself are using standard props, so that is why our results correlate.

Do you think there is a big advantage to the pontoon props? The write-up on the Evinride website says that they are designed for maximum thrust and stability, for pontoon boats and work boats.

I'm happy with what I experienced today with the standard 13.75 x 13 prop. I did some s-turns at WOT, and it felt good. Accelerating from a dead stop, it seemed to bite well, although I didn't try a hole-shot. Coming into port, I had to shift into reverse to avoid a kid in a dinghy who was stuck in irons, and that maneuver went well. I was traveling at about 4 kts, and was able to stop quickly.

But if the pontoon prop provides a big improvement, I may consider it.

No not given your results I would say a 14x11 pontoon prop performs like a 13.75x13 regular prop at WOT. The pontoon prop might have better reverse power and use slightly less revs at hull speed and may be better slow speed response but by how much :?: .

I only got the 14x11 because the 13 would not rev and get me out the hole when heavily loaded  . I mainly only go hull speed these days as I am more into the journey than the destination :)

And I was pi$$ed off I could not get the advertised 20mph :x
