My favorite claim from Roger is that the X will do 17knts under sail, now we all know she has a planing hull, but under what wind conditions and what loading would you have enough power from such a small rig to get one on the plane.

Maybe someone here has actually got one up on the plane, that would be a sight to behold, I know of 24 foot TS's that plane on a regular basis, but they have proportionally much larger super flexible rigs with tapered masts and weigh less than a X does before you put the ballast in, to be honest they are just dinghies with lids

There's a video of it supposedly taking place on the long version of the 26M video, although he does note that it takes a larger spinnaker and a bowsprit

That,s similar to my custom made drifter made from 3/4 oz cloth on a profurl top down furler , mine is cut more like a genny & u can sail up-wind with it too

My custom made Drifter is about 350sq ft & Profurl furler cost me $3000.00 Can. $

so I,d say depending on price for zero code cruiser & furler if I was out shopping for a new genny I would definitely be giving this a good second look because u do not require a second forestay as I do now with my second genny Harken furler , so would be even less weight aloft I would think than my present set-up maybe Judy could enlighten us as to the weight aloft of this set-up , as is lookin @ it right now I think it is a very good compromise from what I have now

CCZ is $800 from HydeSails, and the required furler is only about $600 because the anti-torsion cable is built into the sail. Pretty good price overall as long as it doesn't require a bowsprit...
