I'm not sure what you mean, Ix. :? I've got two pair that I wear so "scam" - ???

I used to not wear shoes either, but it seems the older I get, the clumsier I get, and the more easily my lil pinkies break!
I believe the "scam" was that their advertising claimed that minimal shoes were healthier. Turns out there isn't any research (good or bad) to back that claim up.

Oh,ok,thanks. Healthy is not my criteria for shoes on a boat. :P This former hippie never even fell for the Birkenstock fad.... Especially on a boat! :)

Thanks for the ideas, looking into the Sperrys.

I do love my Vibram Five Fingers, but worry about smacking a toe.

I guess I'm still stuck in the 70s from when I first started sailing. I rarely look at the brand. I just go to K-mart and spend a total of $5 on a pair of sneakers with a white or natural tan colored zig-zag soul. #1 criteria is good grip. #2 the souls must not mark up the deck.
