It was a quick & busy Summer. I didn't get on the water as much as I would've liked. But this was a great day
We took a nephew out to paddle board, swim & boat. The time goes by so fast - even when they're not "fully yours"...

Windchime - on the cover of the brochure for the Blaine Marina, in Blaine Washington.
The photo was taken by the marina staff during our annual spring Regatta of the MacGregor Yacht Club of B.C.

These pictures aren't from the summer, but since our sailing season is longer I figured I'd add to thread.

On Christmas day, my 2 oldest boys, their friend and I all dressed up as pirates for a "cruise"

Beautiful Fall Sunset returning to the Marina
I had a lot more on my phone from various trips up and down the River here, but it got trashed so I lost those. (My fault for not backing up)
And this is from 2013 but it's my favorite picture with my old 25 in one of our first trips on that boat.

Windchime - 1st Place at the 2014 MYCBC Regatta.
At the MacGregor Yacht Club of BC's annual Regatta, it's more about getting all the boats going in the same direction as apposed to setting any sailing speed records, so the bragging rights are not about being the fastest boat in the fleet for the year, but rather not being as slow as the rest

Started 2014 with strong ambitions to set up a sailing program for kids at my church. First step was getting my US Sailing small boat level 1 Instructor certification. Got that done in Ft. Myers in March.

Next step was organizing a class for the church kids. Had three teenagers sign up. Turned bed of pick up into classroom and used O'Day dinghy for "dry drills" in April.

After the "dry drills" in the parking lot, we boarded the 26X, American Spirit, in Sanford, FL, a short 45 minute drive, for points of sail orientation and tacking drills.

Everyone seemed to really enjoy the lesson. We had a good wind, even used a reef to keep it manageable for the newbies.

All in all, it was a good spring for the kids. We look forward to getting them underway again this spring and summer.

And, then, there were some nice moments of reflection, considering the accomplishments achieved for the year.

And time to launch new goals for the summer.

Happy New Year, Mac Sailors. See you out there. Herschel

Happy New Year to all. Can't wait for spring
Nice shots. I thought I recognized the lighthouse as in North Carolina near Wilmington. Back in the 80's and 90's I took my Hobie 18 Magnum up to Long
Beach where my mother-in-law had a house. Sailed off the beach there several times. One was memorable because it was the only time I have ever been physically airborne in a sailboat. Came screaming off the top of a good sized swell on a fast broad reach and just sailed through the air. Crew of four guys (two on trapeze) ended up in a human salad in the middle of the trampoline, but the beautiful boat just kept on sailing. Never forget it; thrill of a life time.

I have tried everything... various ways of copying the shortcut to trying to upload an attachment... all with no success.
