Mine is old (25 years)
At this point it's more about avoiding total dry rot than just trying to save the gelcoat. Everything here dry rots. I even have to lubricate all locks on the house and gates, about twice a year, or else you can't get the key in them, they get so dry.
All the southern exposure trim on my house has to be re-stained every year.
Yep, this Mojave desert is rough. I'm sure you've heard of "Death Valley"?? ................. same desert
So, hopefully, if I get this cover, the boat will last as long as I need it (until I'm dead) to. But as it is now, she'll surely be gone in another 5 years and I plan to last a little longer
