after being in rough weather, I appreciate a solid locking door keeping you located. A curtain may be great for 99.8% of the time. But I think for that one time that you are using it, and get in bad weather (or bad wave or wake, etc), you will sure appreciate it.
If you dont like the solid door on the 04, later 04's (like ours) has the split door which works a lot better. Probably available from BWY.
Do the curtain deal if you like, but keep the door 'just in case'

I'd like a solid door shaped such that it could be latched open to create a private cabin in the V-berth, with the bottom cut out to fit the overhead and the port settee.

It depends.
Sometimes you'll need to use door number one, other times door number two.

Related topic...when I'm on the cape for a week I usually have six teenage young Admirals on board, so changing into swimsuits is handled with a curtain hung just forward of the compression pole ...turning the vberth into changing area.

Ditched the door when we installed the composting head. The best "de-install" to date.

Bob,
Do you have pictures of your install, I'm about to install an Airhead in January?
Thanks

Already did the curtain to make room for a Nature's Head when the snow melts. Looking for advice also.
