Re: What is my 2007 M trailer worth?
Peace-of-mind does have a value, but for the money, I'd really lean toward adding an axle. When I picked my
up, I bought a pair of Tractor Supply 14-205/78 rim/wheels to replace dry rotted ones. The trailer was/is still in good shape. Made it over 100 miles in July, at highway speeds without incident. I had just greased the bearings but did notice that the tires were hotter than I would like after the trip. I would check to make sure the breaks disengaged, and if you stick with one axel, I would bump upthe tire size to keep them cooler. Not an issue for me since I have a slip for the season and only have to trailer it a mile each way. How far/often are you planning on trailering?

Bearings on a single axel is same on a tandem axel. You get double less load and non sway of trailer. Also the blow out tire or flat. Mac. with a Fully eqiped MacX Tandum trailer weighs in at 4200-4500 lbs incuding all previsions for a 1 week trip. Even for a 3 day out it will weigh in about 4200 lbs equiped with 1000 Lb trailer.
My Trailer/boat weight is around 4500 lbs for a 5 day cruise. Tandum Aluminum weight. #1000 lbs.
Factory trailers for mac. are way undersized for a Mac. cruiser.
Dual axals is only way for one who wants to travel long distance.(over sized springs, larger bearing tires, upgrade intire frame and bunkers, also toung frame.ETC.
I had a CP 19 that weighed at 2200 lbs with a single axle trailer with 8 inch tires.
Rules are made to be broken. Just watch your forward step and be safe.
Takeing short trips to your local ramp the Mac Trailer will suite you.

John...it's normal for trailer tires to go up in temperature by 50-60C...that is too hot to touch, but they will run for years like this, even single axles...
I documented my trailer temp measurements somewhere on this Board
Btw, welcome from Albany...just up the river...

Wow, I didn't realize the reactions I would get by my post. Let me set up my circumstances. ALL trips to fresh water are over two hours. ALL trips to salt water are over four hours. That is why I bought the
. I don't have a lot of time on my hands with my job, so there can be no glitches when I get time off, at least the any kind that I can avoid.
At the very least I want two axles. I have a $30K boat and limited time. Just can't see spending that kind of money for a Trailer/Sailer and then squabble about the price of the trailer.

I trailer my
4 hours one-way to Cape Cod 4x each summer, for a week of sailing. 200 miles on highway each way.
Pack bearings once a year, replace tires every 5 years, and the two tire trailer will be fine....
