rubber anchor that expands when tightened...
drill out the pop rivits, insert the well nut, put the chain plate over, and screw into the well nut, and it expands sort of water tight...
I use brass screws.
I'll use liberal amts of 4200 or lifecalk when assembling.
you can find them at lowes.

Re: What do I do with this? (Dinette Storage Insert)
Well I spent about 30 minutes sealing the chain plates and windows a year ago and not a drop in there since. Used 4000 and didn't even take anything apart. Even before that never more than a few cupfuls.mrbillfll wrote:Where it always comes from, the chain plates from rain, or, the ballast leaking.... or something worse.Sumner wrote:
Where is the water going to come from? It is dry in that area. Also we have our setup gear in one and the sailing gear in the other main one,

I try to seal my chain plates every year... and my seal lasts about 1-2 trips... maybe.
(using 4200 and well nuts.)
if it was dry all the time, nobody would need the bins...
-just sayin'
We use the bins to keep things organized and they have worked well in over a 100 days on the water without a problem and so I see no need to change them, but also don't have a problem if someone else wants to use something else,
