I agree, any mod on the hatches should either be as good or better at keeping out the weather as the stock. Or, easily changed out to stock. I've had green water over the bow and was very happy my hatches were secure. Now what I need is a way to keep me dry at the wheel. A full enclosure seems too difficult and expensive. I remember someone added a motorcycle windshield to the helm and I am serious about creating something like that. I wonder how strong the plexiglass from Home Despot is, and what it would take to make a cowling.
