I believe the reason we only get a 1900Kg trailer is not the trailer itself but the weight bearing capacity of the tyres. For the record I have a single axle trailer and pay careful attention to the tyre pressure to ensure it is at 50psi.

I'll endorse Boblee's comments about the need for additional carrying capacity. My lightly loaded 2007

on its original steel trailer weighed in at 2100kg, which was well over the 1905kg limit of the trailer, and also over the towing limit for the tow vehicle.
The load limit of the factory trailer is probably adequate for day-sailing but a lot of weight can be added when the Mac is fitted out for comfortable cruising, especially if you are going to remote areas.
Before my first long trip I took a detailed inventory of items to be carried on board and weighed each one. The inventory added up to over 600 kg. Because the trip was to a remote and barren area, the fuel and water I needed to carry contributed more than half of this. The rest was made up of: anchors and chain rodes; inflatable dink and its outboard; batteries and solar panels; refrigerator and cooler; cooking gear, propane gas, pots n pans; generator; fishing gear; provisions; and a lot of "little things".
I upgraded the original trailer to take the load but although it worked for that trip, I was not very happy with the overall result (I've posted about this before). I ended up buying a properly engineered new aluminium trailer. It is rated for 3200 kg, which give me a great safety margin, and is working very well so far. It tows easily and also gives the boat a noticeably softer ride.
