Re: 26X Trimaran Idea
Once I get the amas and outriggers figured out I was thinking about a 40ft sail system similar to this with mine being able to fold down real quick.

Re: 26X Trimaran Idea
Being in Aviation that idea did cross my mind several times but the biggest reason I would use it is figuring out a tabernacle system for it.davidbagnall wrote:while we are having fun with rigs how about

He had, as I recall 2 - 4 hp out boards one on each outrigger.. Built it for long voyages..

If it resembles anything like the picture Scott posted that is not what I am looking for. Mine has to meet 6 requirements to meet the ROAD stamp of approval:Divecoz wrote:I am sure its been done before and there are pictures here , on this board, of it.. It was Madd Mike

1. Lightweight.
2. Leaves plenty of room around the cockpit for fishing.
3. Can be easily moved back in for docking or trailering.
4. Add safety and not take away from it.
5. Easily maintained by using parts available in most hardware stores.
6. Add significant speed to make it worthwhile in the first place.
That is all for the outrigger system. If successful move on to sail system. However since this year I am transitioning from Military life to civilian I don't have time to start this mod this year or for that matter even go sailing

That would cover the unwritten #7 criteria which cover the requirement of early Redneck aesthetics but I don't think it fulfills #6. However it would cover unwritten rule #8 which states must be cheap.Highlander wrote:Two Cajun Pork barrells & some Bamboo cane should be just right up your tree !!![]()

You can search his posts here
I can assure you that Mike Dunn (AKA maddmike) is a real person and adventurer. Some on this board know him in person.
