They were good and pretty helpful, at least for a newby like me. So I can testify that he is a real deal, not a rip-off.

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts
I did purchase these videos this year. They came in a week, the quality was really bad on both image and sound. I e-mailed Jeff and he responded same day and sent me replacements.
They were good and pretty helpful, at least for a newby like me. So I can testify that he is a real deal, not a rip-off.

I ordered both video's on 7-22 and paid for them w/PayPal. After I did not receive them by 8-2-13, I sent a e-mail on 8-3.
I have not received the video's as yet and no response to my e-mail.

I am a believer in the experiment until you find what works best for you method. I am still refining my method but have it down to only needing tools for the rudder bolts (Mastreb/Matt - you were going to get me a part number of what you use) and a screwdriver for the mast gate.

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts
Greetings fellow Macsailors!
I apologize to anyone who placed an order here after July 20th and has not received their DVDs. That is the most recent batch of orders I received from Heath. The best remedy for this is to go to your email and forward directly to me your HK Innovations paid invoice to jeff (at) speedyrigger (dot) com
Any invoices I receive by 4:40 p.m. today Pacific time will be sent today via first class mail or first class mail international from CA. Invoices received after 4:30 p.m. will be mailed next mail day.
The speedyrigger videos were produced in 2000 after a request from a large number of Mac owners on (at the time) the Sailnet discussion board, prior to their bankruptcy and subsequent sale. The thread was about how much time was spent at the launch ramp and complaining that Roger's factory video stated rig in ten minutes was hogwash. Well, the norm was a little under an hour; some were faster, the slowest was four hours. Yikes!
When I chimed in that I was rigging four to five times a week in twelve minutes or less (then driving from parking lot to the ramp to launch), everyone wanted to see it on video. So after filming and "editing the two and a half hours of rigging and sailing on VHS cassette at the time, Heath and I teamed up in December of 2000 with banner advertising here, and the orders are still coming. The video quality isn't studio quality, no question about that, but the content and procedures I show is helpful to everyone who watches them. Everyone seems to pick up something handy each time they watch them; for example, I don't remove the companionway "door" until the mast is already up and I need to go below to retrieve the boom/mainsail. (see Mac owner review snips link here):
http://macgregorsailors.com/catalog/pag ... eviews.php
The step by step procedure to rig and to de-rig are included on two sheets of paper in a sheet protector for use at the ramp parking lot.
An order I received on my website today had questions about raising the mast and I replied with the owners manual link from this site (see "resources" at top of page) and a request for his phone number to answer questions directly.
Any time I can help out I am available, though this forum is the best at getting a really robust amount of info in a rapid time frame, and I thank Heath again for hosting macsailors for all of us.

As to the pending orders, I did contact Heath. The orders seem to go to Heath and then he passes them to Jeff. Heath has been swamped so there's a few backed up orders. He says he will be catching up later this week. Of course, if you've paid you can contact Jeff directly with your receipt as he noted.

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts
Jeff sent me an e-mail at midnite central time last night.
He claims he only received my Friday e-mail yesterday, which I find highly unusual. I have heard and seen them get lost, but never retrieved 4 days later. Once lost , lost forever is the norm.
He also claimed he never received my order from the online site that processed it (from this website). He said the last "batch of orders" he received was July 20th. If that is the case, someone from this website needs to react. This is totally unacceptable.
He asked that I send him proof of order in the form of a receipt, which I have done. He says he will send the tapes as soon as he receives this.
This all is a pain, and sounds like BS and weak excuses to me. No offer to return my money, which I asked for in lieu of the tapes. (either or)

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts
Gee whiz, this is a web site, not an ecommerce store. I know many people are expecting things they buy on the internet to be like Amazon or Home Depot - fast delivery - super service, and so forth, but stuff you buy from community forums and blogs is like asking a friend to pick up a bag of eggs for you on his next trip to the store - I don't think these guys are making a lot of money -
Anyways, I just thought it was okay to keep bugging them to respond but just remember - it's not a web storefront or operation - it's just a guy with a banner ad who has a product we might like and probably does not even have a web site. Try to adjust your expectations to the reality of what is. Is this an expensive product - ? I finally notice a banner ad but when i came back to click it it was gone - now it says Blue Water Yachts. Next time it pops up I will click it to see what all the fuss is about.
Thanks Kevin for pointing it out.

As my patience grows thin with the instant gratification crowd, let me point out that two different Moderators jumped in here to help you. One contacted the owner of this forum, while I contacted Jeff from Speedy Rigger. This happened within four hours of your complaint and was above and beyond what we as Moderators normally do, since we are volunteers and do this as the rest of our lives allow the time. We are glad to do extra services like this when time allows, but don't appreciate someone whining about it.
Since you purchased the videos through this website, Jeff cannot refund your money, you will have to go through Heath for that. If you are so dissatisfied with the service, you need to contact PayPal and dispute the transaction. Or, you could just accept Jeff's offer and email him a copy of your recipt and get your videos.[/rant]

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts
Hi HaminX, I was volunteering you for air support for my trip across the pacific to Australia on a different post, but so far no one else wants to go.
Anyways, I think those guys are new guys and they do not understand - I'm sure after a week or so on the site they will be very different - it's a jungle out there - some of these folks do not trust internet sales.
Hey Kevin! I finally saw the banner add! It popped up when I was browsing the mods section so i quickly hit it so I could see what a "speedy Rigger" was!! (Thought it was gonna be some new kind of mast winch or something), anyways,
I read all that stuff and looked at those pictures! 10 minute setup! What a riot! I want to see the video just for the entertainment factor!! I went ahead and bought both of them!! Forty Bucks! Big deal! That's NOTHING - they charge you more than that for the Harry Potter two disk set and I paid more than that for a stupid dock line at West Marine!! (If you want to talk about RIP OFFS!).
Come on, it's not a lot of money - I can't wait to see this - my wife will make popcorn and make fun of me the whole time we watch this one!!
