Is it dragging on the bottom or above the bottom on a short rode? How small is it. We bought a 7 or 8 lb like in your link to use with the dinghy in Florida while swimming.

You drag it on the bottom - drop it until it touches then give it a another foot. Remember tides if applicable!

I dont know the weight OTTOMH but it fills the engine transom well (storage spot) - Im guessing its a 20#

...and we moor the dinghy on it too!!
