You're right Glenn, my Gulfstream MH has the detector 6" off the floor. :o Install an alarm low and high, hopefully that will give you plenty of warning. Best bet is to avoid the fumes at all cost in an enclosed space. 8) Rob

Major correction here

While the molecular weight of CO 28amu is slightly less than the equivalent molecular weight of air (roughly 29amu) the accepted practice in chemical hygiene is to assume mixing of the gases.

If you have a combined smoke CO detector mount it up highfor maximum effectiveness detecting smoke. A standalone CO detector should be put somewhere in the cabin that samples the cabin air... A much easier proposition of course .
