Ours came with an Evinrude 15 which was way to heavy
I traded it for an older "completly refurbished" Evinrude 6hp
The Evinrude had a two blade prop and although it pushed the boat fine there was NO REVERSE power whatsoever.
I ended up having issues with it jumping out of gear at higher speed...broke open the lower unit, found there was NO GEAR OIL in it...spun the clutch dog around so reverse side was now forward and re-sealed the LU....then it wouldn't start...
Got it started, and then sold it on CL for $200...I'd had enough
Now I have a 2003 Tohatsu 8 hp with a three blade prop.
The difference is night and day, and the tohatsu runs like a champ...
I would recommend it highly
