When I read the blog on how her engine went out, and she made a new fuel pump from something like a bilge pump, i realised she had the 'right stuff' You go, Jessica.

I believe she only used the motor occasionally to assist in charging the batteries when either the sun or the wind or both did not cooperate. On May 10th, Jessica wrote:Thats interesting I thought one of the "rules" was that the motor was not to be used, maybe I'm thinking of something else.
I think it is considered OK to use the motor for charging as long as it is not used for propulsion.The little Yanmar engine is going again! A little delicately, but it is running with a water transfer pump rigged up in place of the fuel pump which had stopped working.
we've pretty much had no wind at all the last two days, so the batteries were lower than I'd thought.
