Ive got a quick connect bracket for my Magma that holds it on the transom

I would never move underway with the Magma on its mount, frankly.

Will try to grab a pix today - its only 15F though.... :| :|

We have been sailing along healed at 10 deg's and sailing at 6 mph while cooking burgers with no problem with our Magma grill. I do remove the grill to trailer unless were only going the 3 miles thru town to the closest boat launch and then I think it's safe to leave attached.

It was one of my first purchases for my mac,i love my magma. It has fed C130 and myself on many a trip.

I just love sitting on the hook as the sun is going down with the magma smoking away.

That is a concern. The regulator has a little hole for securing a "leash" which I have done. Yea... put a leash on that puppy.

Function before form, thanks,

The magma rail mount seems pretty strong. I have the sunbrella cover which would keep the lid and grill from bouncing around and I tie off the "quick release" bracket so it can't come undone. Still, it's easy enough to remove the magma. I would take it off before going on a long trip.

I would not do it.

I'm sure the unit is well designed, but one of Murphy's rules states "if something can go wrong, it will". Try and imagine the mess if a grill dis-attaches while the boat is being trailered :?: I don't care how short a trip, it's not worth it.
