Au contraire...I was banned from the Edgartown races for too many consecutive victories in my white hulled :macx:

Blue hulled :macm: are still allowed in the race, interestingly enough.

Speaking on behalf of the wife and family, I'm sure you'll enjoy the comfy/roomy interior. The difference between our :macm: and the similarly sized Catalina we used to sail on with a friend is amazing! I hated going below even to mix drinks! Yes, we kind of hate how the wind pushes us around when we're trying to moor but we LOVE spending one, two, or three nights relaxing on board. It's great that at 5'9" I can stand up inside!

Ditto all the other comments about fuel savings, etc. And it sounds like you are interested in a fun family experience, not racing. Would you buy a high-tech backpacking tent when you want to spend a comfortable night sleeping in the campground with the whole family?

We love this boat. We really do.

You da man .... because there is a point when it only IMHO makes since to drop my 50 horse and turn the key... and No doubt I...... have to do it long before some on this board... :x
IMHO and from what I have read here as well ................
If you want to sail a Mac Fast $$$$$$$$$ Read everything posted by Leon on this board and as you noticed$$$$$ be ready to spend some $$$$$$ But it appears Leon is making his M competitive....
I will mention that this weekend after ....... we got the rail out of the water and we tied a reef in a single sail , which BTW had #$%& for shape, we still registered 3.5 to 5 knots on the GPS! Oh and I will mention toooooooooo we were pretty much alone out there :o Lots of REAL sail boats 30' to 60' sitting in the harbor :D
