It is a tool designed by MacGregor Yacht Corporation that is/was listed in the Rig Box with a new Mac 26m in 2008. The original photo from Roger was made from varnished wood and, according to his e-mail, was to be included on all new Macs, effective with the introductory MacFurler.
Never happened. I send the photo with measured dimensions out to our customers so they can fabricate one. In addition, the KHM site offers a ViceGrip tool for adjusting the stays.
Tip: If you have a mast raiser and another body, you can adjust your shrouds by lowering the mast a foot or two to release headstay tension, move a clevis pin in one of the chainplate adjusters, and then tighten and check. Be sure to look up the mast from the mast step for left'/right bow, and for aft rake above the shroud attachment points from away from the boat.
There is a lot of help on this site for more info.

It looks like a " made up" tool for removing flush deck fuel caps...the ends of the two bolts match to two depressions in the threaded fuel cap. the cap screws down until its flush with the deck and 'body' of the fuel inlet...withouth the tool, there is nothing to get a grip on. Usdually, these fuel caps are made of brass...very common on old fishing boats.

You put it in the holes of the stay's lower shackles and then crank it over-center to get it to where you need it.
