Thanks for the added info. I will call Scan Marine to discuss the problem. I've dealt with them before on parts and repairs, and they've provided very good service. I'm still leaning toward installing the drain tube, with an openable valve. The stove is mounted high enough, and we never take on more than a cup of water in the tube. However, even a 1/4 cup of water is enough to prevent the stove from starting.

Is there any update on your Wallas stove issue?

Nope. The seasons turn, and I've been focused on things other than boating, so haven't pursued the issue yet. No fear though. Before I go out again next season, I'll be trying to install a change, so I no longer have to dump water out of the tube when heeled over.

On our 07 M has a Wallas heater it is located on the divider wall between the head and the bow birth way up almost to the ceiling. We have had no trouble with the exaust collecting water, It has no P- trap to worry about. For winter sailing it is great for taking turnes warming up.
