I have on some years run the lines dry but other years like last I left the gas tank attached and started the engine every weekend and ran it for 15-20 minutes, either way it runs fine in the spring.Wind Chime wrote: It was suggested to me last year that; it may be better to leave gas in the lines as it will not freeze.
Any thoughts on this?

One thing I have never bothered with is flushing the engine after every saltwater run because I slip all summer in salt water. At the end of the summer I bring the boat home and run the engine in a big 100 liter bucket/tub of fresh tap water all winter unless it freezes (but that does not last) then it gets put off a few days but still gets regular weekend running in the fresh water. If I decide to run the line dry and winterize I run the engine a few times/weekends until I think I have disolved most salt then shut her off for winter. My $600.00 servicing included some salt clean up but it was five years worth and minor build-up. Not as bad as one would suspect. So far my Honda has been tried and true, never let me down.
