New photos are up at the Tattoo Facebok site, as well as some new news:
Tattoo Yachts wrote:The Tattoo 22 will be available in the Fall of 2013. If you would like us to send you more information as it becomes available, please let us know at info@tattooyachts.com.

This will be an extremely light, high tech boat, easy to sail, easy to trail, and fast under power.
So... here we have the first shots of the new 22-foot Tattoo!

It looks like a nice mix between the cute 19, old venture 22, and the big daddy 26M. Looking forward to seeing one. I think I'll start planning now for the Miami sailboat show in 2014. 8) 8) 8)

I'm sure it is epoxy material "outlawed" in California :D :D :D

You have it backwards. It's the fiberglass that is outlawed in California. The epoxy boats Roger is making are staying in Costa Mesa.

Apparently it's okay to pollute in Florida but not in California.

Of course it is. It's on the gulf coast, just ask BP...ouch. Someone was going to say it

Looks like a pop top. It has the look of a fast sports car. I bet it really rips under power.

I suspect this new boat will be very very popular. I think they will sell thousands and thousands of them because the younger folks like smaller boats with more speed under power.

Given the speedy looks of the smaller one, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 26M updated with a similar look and given a new model designation at some point.

It's future will all be about the final weight, er... I mean the wait! Which is going to weigh more - FG or the 'other'?
If the picture really shows a larger version of the pop top (aka X style), how's the 'all lines led aft' going to work?
:?

Don't let the pop top scare you. On a short boat like my old A23 it was easy to hang the mainsheet off the end of the boom making for a much better rig for furling, (you just roll up the boom on a rotating gooseneck). So your main is already aft. Usually boats like this get all they need from a working jib so I don't see a lot of issues with sail handling. This thing should be a child's toy to sail like a sabot.

Also, I doubt there is any real future for the 26M. I honestly think it's going away for good. I do not think there will be a new 26M, I think they will just keep making the old one as it is for as long as people want it. It's too complicated for the emerging market. (Sorry about you old salts like me but we are a dying breed).

A 22 foot boat made of epoxy would be better than any other boat in its class period. Therefore I can't see any reason that they would not get over 22 grand for an epoxy 22 foot hull or even more. They will sell a LOT MORE of them too because of the parking and storage and trailer realities of the younger generation who drive smaller cars. Also, this boat as I see it would easily start to cut into the power boat market in the 'cuddy cabin' class. That is a HUGE and growing market.

An epoxy boat would be VERY VERY light. Lighter than any other sail or power boat in its class. This boat could take over the market even at a high price I think.

I think that new boat would be the choice of young families hands down.

Now will they recommend a 60 HP max on the 22 and 90 HP max on the 26?

Interesting, no tiller on the 22. Looks like a baby M.

Really glad to see a great idea not mothballed.

I think the wheel helps appeal to the "younger" market as said earlier. A good company moves in the direction of its buyers.

Yes, I agree the wheelhouse will be important for getting the market share. Boston Whaler is gonna get gutted by this new boat Roger has dreamed up. I think he has a real winner here.

Good morning Captain Victor! Have you created any new electronic miracles yet for our boats??

I am still in need of an auto pilot for my wheelhouse, can you help me? I think there is a great need for an electronically stabilized wind direction and speed sensor for a rotating mast too! You are the wizard that can figure all this out.

The wheelhouse on the new 22 tells me that there are going to be a whole lot of customers for a pilot.

Any news on a wheelhouse pilot??
