Nice. I always wondered, how do you back that rig down a ramp?

Very Carefully!

Actually it backs up very nice, it is so long that it doesn't have to swing much to control. The hard part is ignoring everybody else and staying focused on the task at hand. People automatically do not like motor homes especially when they are big with a sailboat, especially going through downtown Vancouver or Seattle! ...those power boaters always in a hurry! I need a bumper sticker that says.."does it look like I am in a hurry?"

SeaHouse..... Red? Red? You're going to stand out like a Houri's palace! :D
Yeah, the red. I am always hesitant to order a colour unless I have seen it on an actual vehicle in person. We had test driven and seen quite a few Explorers, but no dealer locally had a Sport (in any colour) in stock. After we placed the order (for white) we saw a red sport in a parking lot in Buffalo (there's a tinted clear layer that gives it depth and a 3D look; some other colours have it too) and I was able to change it before the order was sent in. There is a considerable blackout trim treatment to it, making it more understated than just a shout out red.

Thats ma' story and ahm stickin' tuit.

I picked up this 2006 Ford Expedition this spring. It's a great ride, but tough on gas. I do use it as my daily driver, but the daily drive isn't very far.

When not towing, the onboard computer gives me about 15.9l/100kms and on our recent trip to Lake Ontario, we ended up with 20.9l/100kms. It tows quite nicely however.

You sir, are my hero. That is the absolute coolest way to tow a Mac, ever. The Winnebago towing the Waterbago. I think my mind just exploded.

Wow, just wow. I love it.

And yes, I am jealous.

Lol! Thanks, it is pretty outrageous, it gives everybody quit the laugh and embarrasses my teenagers. One time a guy asked me what will I do when I get to Terra del fuego referring to never being able to turn it around.....I said launch the boat and keep on going!

Pulled the trigger on a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the turbocharged 6-cylinder EcoDiesel. Factory tow package with 4- and 7-pin electrical connector next to the receiver, trailer sway control, all the usual electronics (but no CD player - that's an option, and changer is not even available).

I pick it up next Friday (Halloween). Since the boat will still be in my driveway, with the in-laws not taking their RV to Florida for another couple of weeks (I park the boat in their driveway, where the RV is now  ), I'll take the boat for a ride on the local roads and Interstate and see how it does.

No pics yet. Forgot to take one when I saw it today. :P

Leftover 2014, with a really nice lease deal to the end of the month, with a high residual (resulting in low monthlys). The sales dude said part of the high residual is that it will come off lease in January, and will go for more money at regional auction than it would in the summer (statistical likelihood, at least), being 4-wheel drive. Regardless, it's only a few bucks more per month than my Highlander, and it's a much higher trim level, and diesel to-boot. With a 7500 lb tow rating, sway control, self-leveling rear suspension, etc. 8)

Dodge is supposedly increasing the percentage of Ram trucks with the same diesel to 20% of yearly output, which is a good thing, as they (diesel) pickups seem to outsell supply. It's not the Cummins, but if you don't need or want that large of an engine (up to about 800 lb-ft of torque, depending on configuration :o ) in a pickup, this is an alternative. GM had a light diesel under development and basically ready to move to production, but I think it went away during the bankruptcy, though the design is there, so it may reappear, especially if Chrysler takes enough market share. And now I hear Nissan has an engine it developed with Cummins for their pickups.

Maybe the North American market is finally ready to accept oil burners, a place Europe (and maybe the Land Down-Unda, too) has been for a long while.

Who plays CDs anymore? Who buys CDs anymore?
I've never even inserted a CD into my car's player. Don't even know if it works. Much nicer to play via the USB cable and iPhone or XM radio.

Tow capacity looks like it will be nice for you. Better mileage offsets the higher diesel price.
