One more point on running generators at night - you shouldnt do this without a CO detector on board if you are sleeping.

yes i agree, we have 2 CO detectors on board, one in the aft berth and one in the V-berth.....i generally move the generator to be mostly downwind, depending where we anchor at night...we had a BLAST on this trip, i had the wife and 3 kids leaning off the port side, as i was in a 25 degree tilt while sailing.....the boat held rock steady there for 30-40 minutes...the youngest (the daughter) made us all laugh when she said...."i can see the diving board!".....LOL....

but it was real nice to be able to come in from the heat, and cool down in the A/C....and it only takes it about 5 minutes to cool the boat down once u turn it off....

i'll open a new thread later to tell of our (my) self induced mishaps on this trip...if any have read my stories before, you know i should never be left un supervised and this trip reenforced that LOL....
