Returning to US from Canada

I went up to Canada for a week with all my food in the RV bought in the US at a Costco. Upon returning at the US border in Washington the customs took all my meat except pork because of Mad Cow. They even take canned stew and canned raviole. This also encludes chicken. The Canada customs went through my RV looking for guns and then question me about guns. No guns in Canada.
