I will probably get most everything on his list for factory options . Any advice on extras that the boat needs before I sign the line ????.

I have not made up my mind on the engine yet . I was concerend about the warranty being voided if I put more than a 50 HP on it . I like the Bigfooot 4 stroke .
I bought from Bill at B4S last August. He took me to OX-BO Marine near his place to get the outboard intalled.I got the 50hp Suzuki. After reading about outboards on here and other web sites it looked like a good option and didnt seem to be any different than the Big foot just a little quieter and lighter. It cost me $7295 complete install. I had the total bill boat & motor, made out for only $17400 so I only had to pay tax on the much when I got the boat back to Ohio. Bill is very fair and will not steer you wrong.Good luck with the new toy.

What's your location? Planning on going in the ocean with swell and currents? Calm lakes? How much extra weight will you carry (gear, passengers, food?) Will you motor with or without ballast? Your MPH (most of us use knots not mph) will vary.

From reading others posts here I would say if your expectation is that you will go 19-20mph with 50hp you will be disappointed.

Agree. Look for 15-17 mph as a fair estimate for an average X with a moderate load.

I get 17.5 mph empty with my new 50 hp bigfoot 14 x 10 SS prop mast on with rollerfuller and mainsail cover on, with just me on the boat. I have gotton 18+ with the wind behind me. NOTE - This only in smooth, near glass, conditions. I have heard that without the mast you will get a little better MPH.

This is not an issue for me. It cost 2x to go 16 mph as it does 8 mph and 3x to go 16 mph as it does to go 5 mph without sails up. Although I would not trade it for another boat. When I want to go it is nice. Longest, fastest passage has been from Marathon Fl to Everglades City in 6 hrs. But it was work. When I go 7 mph, I let the auto pilot do it and RELAX.
