TRANSOM ANGLE 26M & 26X
Can anyone tell me the transom angle on a 26M? Would also like the 26X angle for info.

Transom Angle?
You got my curiosity up! I assumed it to be 90 degrees perpendicular to the hull and since it is sitting just outside the door in my driveway I picked up the square on my way through the garage to check for sure. Well, it turns out there is exactly 3 inches of gap on the inside of the square when I place it beside the engine leg, you do the math to get the angle in degrees. On closer inspection I can actually see the engine brackets mounted on an angle. Funny I never noticed that before.

Short answer - I want to put a swim platform on the back and they say it will work on anything up to 15 degrees.
Long answer - I sold my 26X but am not sure I can maneuver to the dock with the smaller 26M opening. I have a bad leg and fell once on the 26X. Round as I am, I still don't bounce very well on docks.
It was starting to look like I needed to buy another 26X. The next thing to figure out is how it will affect use of the rudders. Even as a cruiser, they are still useful.
I thought Roger was supposed to be looking for a swim platform to offer as an option but we may have to wait on the Z boat.

I am having trouble thinking how one would use the stern opening at a dock. So what it looks like is, you have a floating dock and want to exit from the stern to the swim platform to get onto the dock. I wish I had this. The hop from the cockpit down to a floating dock is a bit much sometimes.
I do recall a folding boarding ladder to attach to the cockpit rail. Although in the way when not in use, it may be a better solution. Or a small folding ladder.

It would be interesting to see what you are considering for a swim platform. Looking at my X just now, I see very little placement options for a permanent structure that won't interfere with the motor or rudders. Perhaps something that mounts to the 10 degree transom face, to the inside of the rudders & loops around the OB motor? And then the strength of the transom to support the structure & load?
Night Sailor's gangplank idea sounds good as it can serve as a plank for the insubordinates to walk if they P-off the captain!

We really like our Fender Step. It's great at low docks, we use it going in and out of the dinghy with it tied along side. Simple to mount and store, plus an extra fender when you need it.

An offset motor mount swim deck might work well on the X-boat. The fabricator needs to have the transom angle. Price about 2 boat bucks.
