air compresser

Post by secross2 »

Well I found out what is wrong with my motor. The air compresser in the 2002 TDLI 50 stoped working and shot gas throughout the motor. Luckly Nissan has agreed to replace the faulty parts and the ruined parts for free.

Also I thought I had 2 clams up in the centerboard, well, turned out to be a large family of clams and they had compressed themselves betreen the centerboard and the holding bracket. The painter aid the new bottom paint lasts between 4 and 5 years with it being scraped every 6 to 12 months in the Puget Sound because of the temp of the water.

They said the part was fixed shortly after the problem was found. Didn't tell me how many faulty motors were distributed.

Yeah, but I'm just sayin' that this is the second time I've seen a failed Nissan air pump reported on this board... I wonder if they're beginning to hit 'end-of-life'?

Ah! maybe, however, we only had about 70 hours on the 50. Now that you mention it I'd be interested in finding out hours used on the other motor. :?:
