The mainsheet traveller questions was mentioned in the Full enclosure thread so I started a new one.
A simple way would be just to put an attachment point somewhere outside. It would have to be very strong. The Arch is a good idea but to make it strong enough would be expensive. Over the hatch has also been discussed before but the strength issue has not been resolved.
My sailing would be on the same tack for hours so the attchment point oustide would be liked.
Any thoughts?
Mainsheet Traveller, should you change it?

You can search on dual mainsheets or twin mainsheets. Xers have done that to simulate a traveler, though I don't like the idea myself. They attach the mainsheet at one Genny track and the vang at the other side - both attached to the boom bail.
Given just a few on long tacks, you'd probably be happy with that arrangement.

Genoa Track
Are you sure of this? There is a massive amount of force pulling on the genoa blocks when the wind fills the genny, enough to rip that track right off the combing if it is only a few scews.James V wrote:The problem with the genny track on the M is that there is no backing. Just some screws and a few washer. A knockdown or to strong of gust, and it might be pulled out. But, this is something that I wanted to reinforce.
As for the traveller on the M how about a second I-beam one mounted a few inches aft of the original stretching right across? I don't much care for the O.E. T-beam.
