Would like to visit someone's Mac 26!

Post by rfehon »

My wife and I were excited to find the Macgregor 26x and M models as the likely boat we will be purchasing. We are in Rockaway, NJ and would love it if some of you nearby (meaning within 100 miles...Jersey shore, east PA, southern NY...)would be so gracious as to allow us to see your boat. I have been DEAVOURING stories, reviews and this message board learning as much as I can about them. To see one first hand would be fantastic.

Please, contact us!

Rfehon,
Are you looking for a X or a M. There is a Macgregor dealer not too far from your house up there. Here is the link to their site.
southshoremarina.com

I hope that helps, Tony
P.s. if you don't get what you are looking for out of South Shore, I am in Lumberton, Nj. I can show you mine.

Initially we were focused on that new M model. I want to remain open minded and would like to take a look at the X models as well.

Yes, I am aware of that marina and we enjoy going to Greenwood Lake quite a bit. (Many good places to get steamers!) But of course I would most enjoy speaking with and touring an owner's boat for some first hand impressions.

Thank you for the offer and I will relay it to my wife. We would have to make a plan for visit.

Thanks!

Bob

I'd be happy to show you around my 99X and take you for a short cruise. I'm in a marina in the water in Stamford, CT, exit 8 off I-95. That's about 10 minutes into Connecticut from New York. We're probably about an hour drive for you outside rush hours. Let me know.

Thanks, Cris! Wow, a 99X?!?!? It takes me an hour and a half to get to Bridgeport. You may be another 20 minutes from there. Beautiful location, Stamford. It is probably a 50/50 chance we could make it there anytime soon, but an offer for a short cruise might push the balance. LOL! I will check with the wife. Thanks again!

We are closer to you than Bridgeport. You have to pass through Stamford on the way to Bridgeport. So not more than an hour drive (we are 30 minutes to Bridgeport.) Let me know. The offer still stands.

. . . and of course, you're more than welcome to swing by to sail out on the Gulf with us. It's a short 24 hour non-stop drive from Jersey. I used to live in Rahway and spend every summer in Seaside Hts.

You never know when you'll end up in Florida - I can't believe I'm here.

Want to thank everyone for their offers and want to announce that I am the new proud owner of a 2000X! Once we began to research it, it was like an avalanche and before we knew it we were buying one. We bought locally at the South Shore Marina and had a wonderful time. Took it for a sea trial and were amazed a the speed of the 50hp Honda on this boat. ANd sailing was beautiful as well. Storing it there for the winter than slipping it there in the spring....CAN"T WAIT!!

Thanks again and love the site and all the discussion threads!
