Because a Sabre can't navigate in as little as 9" of water, can't sleep as many in as small a length, can't be trailered as easily, can't quickly covert from sailboat to powerboat, can't drag a waterskiing kid around and would cost 5x what I paid for my Mac.
It still doesn't stop me wanting to have a little natural touch inside my Mac, though... and a bit of well-crafted woodwork makes it so much more 'homey' without adding tons of weight.
Teak and holly sole
I did'nt think that the sanding sealer was necessary because teak is very dense but I applied 3 coats of Ultimate Sole and it has held up beautifully and looks great. I applied the ply with 3M 5200 and weighted it with batteries and plywood, it's definitely a permanent installation
I used both Honduras and Phillipine mahogany because I had a bit left over from another project.
You left out one other reason..................like a $300,000 difference !! I was just kidding anyway, hence the smiley face.Simple.
