A new twist to my original post here about my tire blowout last month. Well guess what? The radial/bias ply mix was only part of the problem. When I finally took my trailer in to get the spare replaced, they noticed that my front axel of my tandem axel trailer was NOT attached at 90 degrees to the frame, but skewed a little............no wonder I blwe a tire. Not only that, but when they looked at the tire OPPOSITE the one that blew, it's sidewall had separately from the heat as well and was due ot blow next.. My trailer must have been manufactured on a Monday

Axles or attachment hangers can be bent askew when hitting a pothole, curb or speed bump at high speed while loaded, and the tread separation can get started at the same time. A recipe for a very quick blowout before you even realize something might be wrong.

I thought that might have been the case as well, but when we looked at the axel 'attachment hangers' clamped to the trailer frame, there was no evident 'scoring' of the metal that you'd expect if they had slipped on the frame.
