I searched through the threads for Honda and Impeller and found some help, but I'm having difficulty dropping my lower unit in order to change out the impeller. I removed the four obvious bolts under the anti-cavitation plate which came out easy. I put the engine in forward. But it is stuck there. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

there are 5 bolts, the fifth one is under the trip tap fin. romove it and you will see it.
Be sure to tighten the shift linkage back riggght if it comes loose you will
ruin the lower unit.
change the cup as well not just the rubber impeller if your in a sandy area.
Inspect it.
I change inpeller every two years
Put anti freeze goop on all bolts, esp if in salt water.

I use the motor about 45 hours a year.
the impeller can look fine but really have weakend as rpm increase.
I might be over cautious, I am in a area with no help for 20 miles if the motor fails. So I do not take any chances on the cooling of the motor.
My motor also gets -50 below in the winter. this will make rubber deteriorate faster.
Never- even for 30 seconds run the motor out of water, the impeller blades will heat up fast. and waeker the blades.
Hondas are very strong engines and reliable, weakness can be dirty fuel, cooling, and fuel line washers.
I hAVE HAD A ENGINE BURN THE TOP PISTON BECAUSE THE IMPELLER WAS WEEK, EVEN THOUGH THE WATER pi$$ STREAN WAS STRONG.
that was a Mercery but I have never forgot that lesson.
I now change every two years regaurdless.
