I've had my boat 8 weeks been on her 3 times, the last time the wind was blowing a bit hard (thats my excuse) and I hit the jetty quite hard. I have cracked the Gel coat along the crease about 1 foot above the water line, the crack is about 4 inches long ( Vertically)
Is there an easy way, say cheap way, to repair the crack. I say "crack" but I'm not sure it has gone all the way through.because the damage is so high up I cannot see under the Galley if is penetrated.
Any advice would be really appreciated, I realise it is difficult without more details but any general tips would be of help.
I thought this boating lark would be a cheap holiday, the reason for being at the boat was to re rig the jib after it had ripped and costing 150 to repair!!!
Oh No I've Hit The jetty!!

more details?
David , Can you give us more details: What kind, and year mac do you have? Is this a gouge or a crack? 4" above the water line is still within normal heeling angle while sailing, so It's below the waterline frequently.
can you send a picture? If it's a crack, You must have hit pretty hard, as the fibreglass is probably 1/2" to 3/4" thick there? If it's cracked it must be repaired inside also, so no easy fix ?

You actually have to upload the picture to some website and then link to it using the following code in your post:
Code: Select all
