We have a 1997 26x on it's original US trailer but in the UK now. I have stripped the brakes and found the wheel cylinders are both seized. Having looked with our mechanic through all his parts catalogues we are struggling to find a replacement. Please could someone let me know what make of brakes these are likely to be so that we can source them (from the US if absolutely necessary!)

Hmmm.. well.. my advice would be that if they are that toasted why not just use this as your opportunity to convert to stainless discs? After all, you're going to replace two wheel cylinders and more than likely the shoes as well, right? And to do a proper job of it you'll probably want to replace the wheel bearings and seals as well... so.. you've virtually bought the new discs!
But as to how to obtain replacement cylinders, if you still want to go that route, you can contact Champion Traliers and they will have everything you need. I doubt you'll ever find something similar at a UK stockist... and I should know... I've owned over 35 English cars in my lifetime.
BTW, Champion also have nice stainless disc brake sets, too. Search these forums for info on them - they've been discussed a few times here.

Amplifying Kevin's post, you simply need to get the replacement parts for a "545" sized hub. That's our shorthand notation for a 5-lug hub on a 4.5-inch circle - usually referred to as a 10-inch braking system. It's most common on a 3,500-pound axle.

Better yet for a replacement system - look up Kodiak brakes. Their brakes and disc calipers are much better quality than those manufactured by Tiedown, the ones that Champion carries. Trailerparts.com has an excellent description of Kodiak features and benefits. Read Kodiak's parts list for the caliper - you'll get a good overview of every detail that went wrong with a Mac owner's story of his new Champion calipers. Kodiak prices same or just slightly higher than TieDown products. Read up on Kodiak and you'll convince yourself.
